Jackaroo 058 – Registered, Running, and Ready for Rescue

Another one added to the database—Jackaroo #058 has popped up for sale, and while it’s rough around the edges, it’s still a genuine 1993 HSV Jackaroo. This makes a total of 15 of the 79 built now known survivors. Every remaining example matters—and this one is still registered and on the road.

Registration is current until 23 September 2025, and the odometer sits at 300,125 km, consistent with the seller's report and typical for these these vehicles.

The vehicle is currently located in Raymond Terrace, near Newcastle, NSW.

Mechanically, it’s a manual and has been serviced every 5,000 to 7,000 km under current ownership, including a full fluid flush at the 280,000 km mark. The seller states it’s had over $6,000 in maintenance since 2018, including a new clutch and ball joints.

The cons? There’s visible rust in the bonnet and rear doors, though the original (non-rusted) rear doors are included—they just need glass. The alternator is starting to go, but that’s a quick fix. There’s paint fade from sitting outside, and the vehicle is described overall as being in rough condition. That said, it’s still registered, mobile, and entirely restorable.

The seller is open to low offers or swaps for a 400cc road bike.

Whether it becomes a restoration project or remains a parts donor to help save others, Jackaroo #058 lives on—for now. Another one located, logged, and tracked.
